Important Notes:
1. The test fee varies by test location:
- Ontario: $359 CAD including HST
- Alberta: $339 CAD including GST
2. We only accept a valid passport, Canadian PR card or efugee Protection Claimant Document.
3. You must bring your original valid ID. If you bring a different ID (e.g. a driver's license), no ID, a photocopy or an expired ID, you cannot write the IELTS test. For any of these cases, there is no transfer or refund.
4. You must ensure that the details you enter during registration are accurate and complete: first name, last name, email address, passport number, date of birth, nationality, first language, mailing address etc.
5. If you do not have a family name, put a hyphen in the family name field. Do not repeat your first name.
6. There may be changes to your test details (date/time/location) due to unforeseeable circumstances. We will email you should something change. You must, therefore, check your emails (inbox and spam folder) regularly.
7. If you are a minor i.e. under the age of 18, you must bring with you to your test registration a hard copy of the completed Consent Form for Minors which you received as part of your online registration. Without one, you will not be admitted to the test room. There will be no transfer or refund.
8. You may request to have up to 10 copies of your Test Report Form (TRF) sent to receiving organizations (a company, government agency or university) at the time of application. This is free of charge.
9. For extra TRF requests made after your test, there is a fee for each additional copy (details in the chart below).
10. There are no refunds if you cancel or postpone your test less than 35 days before the test or if you do not show up for the test without prior notice.

Policy
- If you cancel your test more than 35 days before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administrative charge (fee details in the chart above).
- No refunds are given for cancellations within 35 days of the test date. If you cancel within 35 days of the test date, you will be charged the full fee.
- There is a transfer fee if you wish to transfer your test date more than 35 days before the test date (fee details in the chart above).
- If you miss the test because you are ill, you must provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date. You will receive a refund minus an administrative charge (fee details in the chart above).
Candidates seeking cancellation or transfer within the four-week period prior to the test date will only receive a partial refund/ paid transfer if they can provide evidence that their ability to sit the test has been affected by a serious illness or cause:
- Serious illness - hospital admission or serious injury.
- Loss or bereavement - death of a close family member.
- Hardship/trauma - victim of crime, victim of traffic accident.
- Military service.
Candidates must request a refund or transfer no later than five (5) working days after the test date and attach documentation and/or evidence: medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death notice or certificate or a police report.
The doctor’s note must be in English, on letterhead paper, stamped and signed by the doctor, state the doctor’s credentials and state both the illness and how this prevented you from taking the test. The note must also indicate the test date. A medical note that misses any of these requirements will not be accepted.
Upon approval by the IELTS Administrator, candidates can request a transfer at a fee or a partial refund (refer to the fee chart above).
Refunds
Refunds are processed within 1 week from the date of the request.
Absent or Late Arrival on Test Day
If a candidate is absent on the day of the test, they will lose the full test fee. If they wish to write the test, they must register anew and pay again.
If a candidate is late, they will not be admitted. No transfer or refund is possible, either.
You are advised to read the Information for Candidates booklet carefully so that you understand the test format and know what to expect on test day.
